It was an eventful weekend for the Sterling team, as we took part in Playfest 2018 in Tatton Park. The event, hosted by Active Cheshire, took place on Saturday 12th May and saw businesses, families and organisations from across the North West take part in a number of challenges throughout the day.
What is Playfest?
The purpose of Playfest is to bring together many people from the local community, promote an active lifestyle, raise money for the British Red Cross and, above all, have fun! This was not only a great platform to raise money, but also a great opportunity to get the Sterling team together out of working hours and have a great time, and that is certainly what happened.
On the day itself nearly 5,000 people descended upon Tatton Park to take part in the event, creating a fantastic atmosphere and ensuring that there were lots of people to cheer on the Sterling team as we tackled the Play to Win section of the course.
Play to Win
Eight members of the Sterling team took part in Playfest, which saw them race against fellow teams through the word’s longest inflatable assault course. Aptly named the ‘Labyrinth’, the 1,000ft course took our team up walls, down slides, through a forest of inflatable palm trees and so much more.
The group managed to complete the course in an amazing 8 minutes 44 seconds. Speaking about the event, team Sterling member Rachel Appleton said: “It was a fantastic day for the whole team and it definitely inspired us to stay active. I think our competitiveness may have pushed us all too far when we tackled the course, as there were definitely some aches and pains the next day but it was worth it.”
We would like to say a huge thank you to the team over at Active Cheshire for organising this fantastic event, and we look forward to seeing what next year has in store.
